Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Charity Walk

Join West Hawaii Mediation Center’s Charity Walk team and help us raise awareness of the importance of conflict resolution in West Hawaii! Please complete the following steps to join our team for the walk.

Here’s how to join us:

  1. Register yourself as a walker or runner on the Charity Walk page by clicking here and selecting “Pledge to this Team”. Registration is $35 per person and all proceeds will go toward WHMC.
  2. Download your Walker or Runner form. This form allows you to collect additional sponsorships for WHMC. Sponsors are individuals who will contribute an amount of their choosing in honor of your walk or run. You are not required to collect sponsorships, but every penny helps us! There are also key details about the Walk at the end of this form.
  3. Keep an eye out for emails from West Hawaii Mediation Center as we get closer to the walk! We will let you know where we will meet and make sure we get a group photo of all who are walking on our team.

5:00 to 6:30 a.m. for Run
5:00 to 8:00 a.m. for Walk

START TIME
Runners to start at 6:45 a.m.
Walkers start at 7:30 a.m.
(For safety reasons, walkers should not be on the route prior to the runners.)

DISTANCE
3.7 miles

THE CHARITY WALK
Gives everyone a chance to raise money for Hawaii’s charities. Walk with the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association and their allied members to help build a better, healthier Hawaii, for all of us.

WHO MAY WALK?  The Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association invites everyone of every age to walk. Those under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult and walkers under the age of 18 must have this application signed by a parent or guardian. All walkers should have minimum donations regardless of age (see front of form). Please note that ALL pets are NOT allowed on the Charity Walk.

WHAT IS THE CHARITY WALK?

In 1974 the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association sponsored a charitable “Superwalk”to benefit one major charitable organization. In 1979, the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association members voted to extend the reach of support offered by the Walk’s fund-raising capability.
The Visitor Industry CHARITY WALK is the result of this decision. All Hawaii non-profit charities are eligible to benefit. Walkers are treated to food, drink and fun at checkpoints along the walk route. All checkpoints are operated and supplied with refreshments and helpers by Hawaii hotels and allied organizations. Entertainment may also be provided at many checkpoints and at the end of the walk.
