Hōkūpaʻa Collaborative Youth Forum

Hōkūpa‘a Collaborative Youth Forum held in West Hawai‘i

In May 2015 six WHMC-trained peer mediators joined 18 other West Hawai'i youth at the Hokupa'a Youth Forum. The event brings together stakeholders from all over the state to discuss how to best help youth reach their full potential. Participating students are nominated by their schools and it was great that such a high percentage of them were peer mediators.

The Visitor Industry Charity Walk: raising money for the community

A special THANK YOU to all who helped raise money for this year’s Visitor Industry Charity Walk at The Fairmont Orchid this past weekend. WHMC staff and friends participated in this event that benefits Big Island charities and non-profits like ours.

We were fortunate to have apples and oranges donated by Honaunau Market, Inc. for our refreshment table. The fresh fruit was a hit among walkers! This was a fun and exciting event spent with the community and we are already looking forward to next year!

Thank you to The Fairmont Orchid, volunteers, donors, and the WHMC board of directors & staff for putting in all the hard work to make this event possible! Mahalo!
