WHMC background

Our Services

West Hawaii Mediation Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the mediation needs of the West Hawaii community for over 25 years. We provide community-based mediation for both self-referred and court/legal system referred cases. Our purpose is to help people find peaceful, participatory solutions to the inevitable conflicts that arise in any community.

Mediation

Mediation is a confidential problem-solving process in which a trained mediator assists the parties in identifying and communicating what is important in the dispute and crafting agreements that are fair, realistic and durable.

Peer Mediation

Peer mediation is both a program and a process wherein students facilitate dispute resolution among their peers. This process is voluntary, confidential, and models effective communication skills that students use for the rest of their lives.

Facilitative Mediation Training

We regularly offer training to individuals interested in becoming volunteer providers of the services listed above. Volunteerism is an exciting way to contribute to one’s community while enhancing one’s own skills.

Workplace Conflict Resolution Training / Employee Mediation Services
